Why Is Deloitte the Best Company to Work for

What we call “Big Daddy Deloitte” refers to the parent company, which encompasses the entire global operations of the company – all 150+ offices. Big Daddy Deloitte is one of the top four professional services firms that hold the tax, audit and advisory market. Deloitte ranked #7 on LinkedIn`s 2021 Top Companies in the U.S. list of the best places for professionals to advance their careers and develop their skills. This list identifies companies that invest in the skills and growth of their employees, whether through training, advancement or relationships. Readers of CAREERS and disABLED magazine were asked to identify the private and public sector employers they would most like to work for or who they believe would provide a progressive environment for people with disabilities. They chose Deloitte as their #1 organization – a testament to our inclusive culture! Due to the fact that you work in a company like Deloitte on innovative projects with large budgets, you will get to know senior executives in the banking world at a very young age. I`ve attended hundreds of meetings with senior executives in my five years of existence, and what you learn from observing people around the block has catapulted my personal development to a level I never imagined. Deloitte gives you a great platform to build your network by simply doing your day-to-day work and opening up more opportunities. There was a time in my career when I received weekly calls from scouts offering me the opportunity to interview for jobs away from my league at the time, and the reason was twofold. Companies know that Deloitte only hires the best of the best, so your chances of poaching a bad performer are minimal.

The second reason is the fact that we work physically with our customers and the news spreads quickly in one bank and spreads to other banks, because the pool of resources is small and musical chairs are no longer just a primary school game. Luckily, my personal growth at Deloitte was so intense that no one convinced me to jump ship, but it was still great to know I had options. Deloitte has once again been ranked as one of the “most attractive workplaces” in the US, India and globally, according to Universum, a global employer branding company. The rankings show how attractive an employer is among students and provide information about a company`s position compared to other ideal employers in the recruitment market. 88% of Deloitte employees say it`s a great place to work, compared to 59% of employees at a typical U.S. company. For the fifth time, Deloitte has been recognized by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) as one of the Best Companies for Women Leaders. The NAFE Top Companies list honors companies that promote accountability for gender equality and places a strong emphasis on best practices that bring women into leadership positions, including mentorship, mentoring, executive succession planning, and leadership development training.

In this 8-minute article, I`ll share 8 reasons why I think Deloitte is one of the best companies to work for in my personal journey. Earlier this year, I spoke to a manager in Deloitte`s London office and learned some really juicy details about what it`s like to work for the world`s second largest professional services firm (in terms of revenue). Here`s what I gathered from a conversation with a London executive at Deloitte`s consulting firm. Deloitte has truly impacted my life, and I will always be grateful and loyal to the people and brand that have shaped my future. In 5 very short years, my outlook on life has completely changed, my dreams have become 1000 times bigger, my ability to consume information and move things has increased significantly and for the first time in my life, I truly believe that with the right attitude, anything is possible. Deloitte has exceeded all the expectations I had of my first employer and I am very sad to leave such a great team, but also incredibly excited for the next phase of my life. The next few years will be a scary but exciting journey and I can`t wait to put all the skills I`ve learned over the past few years into an entrepreneur`s roller coaster world. Today, Fortune released its 25th edition of its Top 100 Companies to Work For, a ranking we`ve covered many times over the past 12 years. And the No. 1 best company for 2022 is Cysco Systems, according to Fortune. Congratulations to them. In the professional services category, Accenture ranks 6th, Protiviti 15th, Bain & Co. 55th and Ryan 60th.

This category also includes seven accounting firms, which are among the top 15 in the U.S. by revenue. That`s why we start our coverage of BCTWF 2022 with the highest ranked among them: Deloitte at number 24. Yes, you read that right, but listen to me. I just raised money with one of my best friends, François Liebenberg, to create a FinTech/EdTech startup that has the potential to disrupt South Africa`s education funding model. How did I go from farm boy in the Northern Cape to founder of FinTech start-ups? The answer is simple: Deloitte. Deloitte ranked #7 on the 2021 list of the best large companies to work for™. The list is determined by rigorous analysis and confidential feedback from employees about their corporate culture. Companies were only considered if they were a Great Place to Work certified™ organization and had at least 100,000 employees.

During my 5 years at Deloitte, I had the incredible opportunity to work on projects with all South African Tier 1 banks, Tier 1 insurers, several Tier 2 banks and a number of loan providers. I`ve worked across the entire financial ecosystem and met some amazing people along the way. It gave me the opportunity to approach, observe and treat things from different angles, where some companies are extremely good and bad, and get an idea of the best practices in the market from an early age. This allowed me to create real added value as a consultant and make a difference with our clients. Few companies can offer you the extensive presence that Deloitte offers you in a very short time. No one could prepare me for the steep learning curve that comes with my first job at Deloitte, but I realized very quickly that the bottom line is EXACTLY where you want to be at the beginning of your career. I received good advice at a young age, always chasing the experience instead of money until 30, and the money will sue you for the rest of your life. I`m not yet in a position to comment on the latter, but at 28 years old, I can truly say that I have always pursued the experience and the doors it has opened for me are proof that it is probably the best career advice I have ever received.
